On 19th October, our Graduate Interior Designer, Harriet Keel, went to Design Crawl Manchester, Manchester’s only showroom-led design event made to inspire and excite the design community. She went to a number of showrooms and met with reps to discover the latest products and current design trends. She also attended some CPD presentations…
At Kvadrat, Hattie went to a talk on the new ‘Technicolour’ collection by Peter Saville. Hattie said that; at first glance, the fabrics appear monochrome, however, when up-close or with a magnifying glass you can see the many coloured threads that make up the fabric. The vibrant colours are inspired by the neon spray on sheep, which Peter frequently saw in the Welsh fields on his holidays.
At Urban Planters, Hattie attended a CPD presentation titled “Creating Healthy Working Environments using Green Infrastructure”. This focused on the importance of biophilic design and how it can positively impact people in and out of the workplace.
“As a recent graduate, this event was a great way to make new connections and see the variety of products on offer to use in studio projects.” – Hattie
