Breathing new life into a former contaminated and underused site.

Princes Parade Leisure centre is a wet and dry facility on the south coast overlooking the English Channel at Hythe near Folkestone. Designed to breathe new life into a former contaminated and underused site, the centre will house a 6-lane main pool, learner pool, plus 90-station fitness suite.

The project sits on a newly pedestrianised promenade with landscaped public realm and a children’s play area and is also adjacent to a listed Royal Military Canal.

The design for the scheme references Kent’s historic Martello Towers, fortified structures offering panoramic viewing platforms, which can be found all along the South Coast.
