At Pilgrim’s Quarter, we are helping shape one of Newcastle’s most significant new workplace developments.
Working in collaboration with our client, we are delivering the CAT B interior fit-out across approximately 45,000 sqm of workspace. Design began in 2023 with a clear ambition to create a contemporary working environment that supports flexibility, collaboration and long-term value for the city.
A Strong Interior Narrative
Our interior concept, National Conversations and Regional Accents, sets the foundation for the project. It establishes a cohesive strategy across the building, while introducing locally inspired moments that reflect Newcastle’s character and identity.
Consistency across floors and occupier zones ensures clarity and quality at scale. At the same time, carefully curated materials, textures and references to the city’s heritage create a sense of place.
The result is an environment that feels connected to Newcastle while operating confidently at a national level.
Designed Around People
People Architecture is about creating environments where individuals and businesses can thrive. At Pilgrim’s Quarter, that means providing a range of flexible settings that support different ways of working.
From open-plan desk neighbourhoods and collaborative zones to quieter spaces for focus and informal breakout areas, the interiors are designed to offer choice. Adaptability has been embedded from the outset, ensuring the workplace can evolve over time while maintaining a strong identity and high-quality finish.
Longevity and resilience have also guided our approach. Material selection, detailing and spatial planning have been carefully considered to support long-term use and minimise future intervention.
A Defining Moment for the City
Pilgrim’s Quarter represents a major investment in Newcastle’s commercial future. As a flagship development, it plays a key role in attracting businesses, talent and opportunity to the region.
Ella Hughes, Interior Architectural Designer, reflects on the journey so far:
“For us, Pilgrim’s Quarter has always been about creating a workplace that feels rooted in Newcastle’s identity while delivering a high-quality environment for the people who use it every day. The idea of National Conversations and Regional Accents allowed us to balance consistency with character, shaping spaces that reflect the city’s distinct identity while supporting modern ways of working.
It is exciting to see the interiors coming together and to know they will foster collaboration, wellbeing and a positive experience for staff and visitors alike.”
As the spaces continue to take shape, Pilgrim’s Quarter stands as a confident expression of Newcastle’s ambition and our commitment to designing workplaces that drive economic success and empower social impact.
