Dover to Dalmarnock Challenge.

As part of Move More Month and to improve our mental and physical health, the team at GT3 Architects are taking part in a very special challenge…

This week, our team will be challenged to walk 450 miles – the distance between two of our UK projects.

GT3 Architects is determinedly people focused. We position people, not buildings at the heart of our projects, and we work to ensure that mentality extends into our practice life and across our project teams. The virtual challenge has been set to encourage us all to take care of ourselves, both physically and mentally.

Liz Clarke, Associate Director and People Champion commented;

“As lockdown starts to ease and the world opens up, we wanted to support our team in getting out and about again. As a busy practice, it’s easy to spend a full day sitting at your desk, especially when working remotely. The Dover to Dalmarnock Challenge has given us all an excuse to get outdoors more, and the photos we’ve received from the team and their families over the weekend have proved how important exercise is to our physical and mental health. They’re already smashing the target – we might need to look at our international projects for the next challenge!”

The team are walking to raise awareness for positive mental health organisations such as CALM – the Campaign Against Living Miserably, a leading movement against suicide. The organisation runs a free, confidential helpline and webchat, for anyone who needs to talk about life’s problems or is worried about a loved one.
